Need Ditch Advice

Boat still in storage, and I promised an Arizona visitor a striper fishing day tomorrow. Have fished the Ditch a couple of times, without much luck, over the years (usually a Merrimack guy), and would appreciate any advice for tomorrow during the daytime. Have flyrod and medium action surf spin rods.

As always the ditch will run hot and cold. Bring the casting gear as there are reports of fish starting to show on the surface (but that might be at first light) If you can get there early enough (05:30) things might heat up in back of Gallo. Barring that it's over to your personal favorite spot or the the herring run and it's every man for himself.
Other options for morning;
West Dennis Beach on the east side of Bass River can offer nice fish on the ebb. Bluefish are in around poppy so S.Cape could offer some good daybreak plugging (but I heard the water might be pretty weedy)
