The severe drought that Andros Island was experiencing for the past 3 years was broken upon our arrival. It proceeded to rain for the first 2 of our 3 and 1/2 day fishing trip. It really shouldn't be called rain, more like walls of water highlighted by lightening and intermittent squalls.....

We did get out to the Joulters on Thursday where the bones turned on with the afternoon incoming tide. I landed 10 on a fly of my own design. Largest around 7 pounds. Friday was a bust with all fish being so intensely skittish that you either couldn't get close or they'd blow out if you raised your arm to cast. Very aggravating.

A word on Kamalame Cay: Outstanding. I do not beleive I have ever stayed anywhere that had their act together so completely. They didn't miss a beat. We changed arrangements on fishing, boats, air travel, etc etc and they had it all locked up. Incredibly impressive. Their food and beverages are all top shelf and service is off the chart, particullarly if you are familiar with typical carribean levels.

Great place to take your significant other because there is a lot to do there and it is spectacular. At least I read where you could do a bunch of cool things but not when it is raining.
