I did it...I take delivery of my Hobie tomorrow and would like some advice on best place to locate the flyrod holder as well as best fastening solution.

To say the least, I am wired...and frau willing and the weather gods cooperating..we launch sunday ...yea baby--127-3- --127-3- --127-3- --126-3-

thanks for the tip averagejoe. Went for the outback which has two built ins on a high flat spot running parallel to the pedal drive. seems like the most likely spot..(no eyes behind my head)

probably best to hit the water first, frolic a bit and then get out the black and decker. Will the plastic hold a screw...four to be exact???

Yes -use stainless steel bolt and "well nuts" they are hard to find but are basically a brass nut attached to a rubber sleeve-- when the nut threads the bolt the rubber sleeve compresses -creating a rubber washer type gasket- which makes your connection waterproof ----or you can just use conventional stainless steel bolt ,washer and nut
