GOT THE BOAT IN EARLY THIS YEAR AND WOULD LIKE TO TRY FOR SOME SHAD. CAN SOMEONE TELL WHAT TO USE. DO STRIPER FLYS WOEK? THANKS IN ADVANCE. MIKE

<P><FONT color=#008000 face=Verdana size=2>I'm by far an expert on shad fishing (any fishing for that matter), but I think you might want to tie up or buy some smaller flies for shad fishing.&nbsp; I would think that small clousers in size 4 or 6 might work okay, and that you might even want to try some popular bonefish flies like gotchas or crazy charlies with the lead or bead eyes.&nbsp; I believe that yellow works well as does pink.&nbsp; I tied up a couple of relatively simple streamer patters - bead eyes, silver mylar body, tail of orange sparkle yarn tied in a loop [I have read that doubling over teased out yarn helps the fly stay in the mouth for an extra moment - as it gets caughton their very small teeth - allowing you to increase your hooking success] and some chenile wraps over the front bead chain to form a head.&nbsp; </FONT></P>

<P>What I meant to say was the I am no shad expert by far, sorry if it read that i was a bigmouth.&nbsp; I was trying to hurry before heading out of the house - wish I could have edited this thing.</P>
