Bass have been here in Casco Bay (Portland area) pretty good for about 2 weeks (probably longer but the weather has not allowed much fishing). The weather has finally broken this week and there lots of bass to be found. Lots of small guys and some slots (20-28" fish) mixed in. Bigger fish are showing up daily and within a week we should be in full swing with hungry bass. Anyone who will be in the Portland area over the next few weeks give me a shout as I still have some great tides available this month...

I'm from NH, so excuse my dumb question ... but I always thought ME slots were 20"-26." Is it 28?

Small fish are also in the Penobscot and I have heard reports of lots of schoolies in the Kennebec all the way up to Waterville/Winslow. Folks have been doing really well omn slot fish at Popham Beach. --127-3-
