first fish(es) of the yak

So my buddy is nailing them one after another from his zodiak with tube and worm...but I am a fly guy, and this is teh second trip for No Problem...so.... busy casting, retreiving, getting line wrapped around paddles, cleats and everything else. One maybe hit, maybe bottom bounce...so after an hour of watching the capt in zodiac take fish decide to let functionality take presidence(sp) over pride...off comes the fly, on goes the tube and worm..I can't believe I'm doing this...and 15 seconds later...whammo...now how do yo fight a fish from a kayak......geez, its pulling me..this is interesting...get it up to the boat...rod goes where again??? maybe try the boga grip...nope left in the box...OK...we lip it, slip the hook, return it to the aqua....and I have officially caught and retrieved my first striper from the No Problem...tube and worm...form does follow function!!!! yeahhhh and the two more that followed! --126-3-

Good for you. Also a fly guy, I grew frustrated with the confines of my sit-in touring kayak and, like you, recently acquired a Hobie (Quest, not Outback).
