View Full Version : Tube and Worm
I am looking to build my own tube and worm rigs but I am not having much luck finding the components. Can any one direct me as to where I may find various collored vinyl tubing, lead heads used in tube and worm rigs as well as crimping tools and rings? I am in the RI area.
Thanks

surgical tubing. A few guides on the vineyard make their tubes using surgical tubing.

Try a google search for surgical tubing or something?
Any good tackle shop should have what you need. They'll have the tubing in colors (blood red, maroon or black) multi-strand SS wire, barrel swivels, egg sinkers and long shank hooks. You can assemble them using haywire twists or crimps. If you want to get fancy twist up a couple with spinner blades up front.

Fin & Feather in Essex has some and New England Marine in Gloucester does as well. Colors are limited.
Google "jannsnetcraft" or "4fishing" and look for tubing on their sites for an online source

Pete makes some of the nicer tubes and may have been one of the 1st to patent his design but I know some Jersey guys who've been fishing the T&W setup for a lot longer than Pete's been walking. Granted they were pretty primitive radiator hose type rigs and your choice of color was the same as a Model T Ford but they worked.
