Judging at the number of people who asked info for DR but did not get many answers, I can tell that some of you have been there whith a fly rod.

So my question is: how was your trip guys? Any info to share? I'm looking for inshore fishing, either wading or from kayak, might consider offshore trip as well, but fly only. As they say (yeah right ;) ) size doesn't matter, only good fun!

Also, I've heard of a lake which holds largemouth bass, anyone tried it?

I'm planning to go there with family and, as always, will post a report when I'm back.

Where on the island are you staying? My trip there was at a complex of hotels know as the Bavaro Something or other. I met a huckster on the beach with the unlikely name of Elvis. He said he could get a guide and a boat for me and we negotiated the cost $300. for a 1/2 day. I was on vacation so what the hell. The next day a boat took me to another hotel complex about 1/2 hour away. I met my guide (who didn't speak English) and was set in bowrider. We went out to the reef and I caught several small fish all on flies. There is much more to this story and if you wish to read it contact me at shaihalude@att.net

Well, info are hard to get by, I might reconsider the destination a bit as 300$ for half day is quite up there given the fishing to be encounter.
