Hi,
Haven't been here in over a year, but I'm still trying to learn how to fly fish the salt. I think soon I'm gonna have to put away all of my fresh water gear and focus full time on the salt. I don't seem to get out on the salt enough. Only been out on the salt a half dozen times this season, and have only caught a couple of dozen small schoolies, nothing over 20 inches.
But I'm going to the Cape 7/8 to 7/15 for vacation.... last year was a great year for me out there! I fished 5 days and caught fish every day but one, and got my first flyrod caught keeper! I was psyched!
I know a few spots, did particularly well at Ballston and Marconi, also caught some fish on High Head.... but I was wondering if anyone might be willing to share any current information, or knows of some other places I should try? Also, any advice on times and tides?
Any input is very helpful and greatly appreciated!
If I can offer any info on trout fishing, the Farmington River, or the Catskills, let me know! I'm also always looking for a partner who might be able to teach me a thing or two about the salt in CT and RI. I have a 4WD and will be getting a RI permit and fishing the fall run, so if anyone wants to join me I'd love to have you along!
