Just read the June 1st edition of the "Abaconian", Abacos' only news publication. Headline states that the Marsh harbor Airport (MHH) will be closed
for 6 weeks, beginning the 1st of October. Terminal expansion and repaving the runway will take place during the shut-down. Treasure Cay "airport" is expected to pick up all incoming flights. TC airport is not accustomed to heavy commercial traffic, and local government, is concerned that its capacity will quickly be over taxed. So, with that said, plan carefully any October/November trips to Abaco. I was just about ready to book this week 26 Oct to 10 Nov.....and as sometimes things dont happen as quickly as planned during major construction operations....mid November may be "if-y" at best. Wish the cargo ships took on passengers...it would be a cool boat ride over from Florida...oh well. Hope this is useful.
