I am heading up to Deer Isle Maine, has anyone ever fished up there? its located between Blue Hill Bay and Penobscot Bay. Wondering if anyone has had any experience fishing these waters. thanks in advance.

Thanks for the intel, what would you say my chances would be of hooking into a bass that far north if I put one of those mack's right back out with a hook in his back? I have yet to find any reports of anything fishy except Mack's in the Blue Hill Bay area.

I spend a lot of time on North Haven, just south of Deer Isle. There certainly are bass around. Nobody seems to know or even fish for them. Close to the shoreline inside larger coves seems to work. (although I saw a massive surface feed from the ferry last weekend in the middle of the thoroughfare). Look for steep drop-offs and fish deep. Overcast with moving tide is optimal. Otherwise dawn and dusk. Usual patterns. Not as abundent as farther South, but you can get some big ones.
