Well in the history of my short fly career.... MY FIRST FISH EVER ON FLY!!!!!!!!!!!! And it was a striper.... a very tiny striper..... But Goddammit' a man has to start somewhere!!!! Bring on the Lunkers! A 8" micro mini twinkie at high tide, over by the boat ramp... fished under the bridge for an hour before with no luck.

Congratulations! I'm new to SWFF too. I could my first couple of stripers last season. First time out this season, the weekend before last I set several personal records, First multiple fish day on the fly (15 stripers, 12 to 20". First stripers on a fly I tied myself! (All) I hope to add my first bluefish and keeper this coming weekend on Middleground or the Cotuit flats. Keep at it!

Nice going! Good feeling, huh? Now be sure to leave some old pajamas in the drink for the rest of us, OK.

Congratulations. Next time you try over at 103 try just below the island or along side it fishing the drop off. I never had any luck at the bridge itself. rel

No probs starting small. Last year my first striper in mid-May was about a 30-incher at the mouth of the Merrimac(Plum Island). I didn't catch a bigger one until August and it was somewhat disconcerting peaking early.
