original tuffline for backing?

has anyone used tuff line, the salt and pepper stuff, for backing a fly reel?i guess it's a mix of dacron and spectra, and seems pretty soft and just a tad thicker then other super braids.

I have been testing it on a spinning reel. 30#. Lots of guys have reported problems but pretty good stuff for me so far. CHEAP.
