Does anybody know a good leader type to use while fishing for bonito and schoolie bluefin? So far I've just been using wire.
I go with straight 20 - 25 flouro for smaller fish and up to 40 for larger ones. For fly leaders on sinking line I go with a 4 - 6' one. 3 - 4' for spinning.
Keep it simple.

Thanks Ray for the info. Do you tie it on with an clnch not or something else.
You can use a nail knot or even make a loop in the fly line itself.

A bimini twist to a spider hitch to a slim beauty to a homer rhodes loop knot to a palomar knot.
Sorry about that...Yeah, you're good with the clinch knot buddy.

Thanks much Soundking and ray i'll set that up on my rod tomorrow.
I use a bow line knot for all leader to hook connections. Makes for a nice and easy loop.
