Ok, I know this shouldn't be done byself according to the manufacturer. Anyway, has anyone done or tried this? If you don't want to reply here in the open, please send me a pm.

I've got a habit of disassemblying every new reel I get and thus making sure I can service it in the woods too if I need to (by knowing how to do it and taking the stuff I need with me).

Hi, the Nautilus series of reels incorporates a sealed drag unit that also contains the anti-reverse. You'll void your warranty if you open it up.... What the factory will do is replace it with another complete unit. Give them a call at (954) 431-8892. They're very helpful and will make the swap as painless as possible (in my experience). I have both an 8 and a 10. They've been super!

I won't be trying to swap it myself. Although a reel that can't be overhauled fully in fishing conditions is a bit worrying in my opinion.
