Hello,
Considering driving to the Spit at Poponesset to catch some blues. Is the action still hot enough to justify the ride down from Boston after work. Historically I have done well at the high tide which I believe should be about Midnight tonight around there. Thanks in advance. Will gladly post info when I have something newsworthy (did catch a couple Atlantic Salmon in Nova Scotia this weekend, but the details don't seem appropriate for this board);

Took a spur-of-the-moment trip to Nova Scotia. Stayed on the Margaree River. Somewhat oblivious to the fishing opportunities up there I had only planned to get into some trout. After a few 'speckled' trout I hooked onto a somewhat larger fish. The locals call them 'slinks' they are the salmon from last years' spawn that have not yet returned to sea. He took a grey ghost on my 5 weight rod on a 5x tippet. Great fight! The next day a picked up a second about 31", on the same (beat up) grey ghost. Evidently there is some great fishing opportunity this time of year, but you would never know it.. not another soul around. I guess everyone just waits for the big runs of summer and fall.
If anyone would like information on the area and where to stay please drop me a line.
