December Bahamas Forecast

Planning a trip to Grand Bahama with my wife in December. I've never been down there at that time of year. What should be biting then? Is it too could for Bonefish?

I travel to GBI the first or second week in December every year. It is one of my favorite months for big Bones. Since the wind generally comes form the North at that time of year the South side of the Island (where the big Boys usually hang) is usually like a lake. The issue is "IF" (and its a big if) the weather cooperates.

Over the last five years the weather has been horrible four of those (overcast, windy, rain). That being said last years December trip was one of my all time favorites. Bluebird skies, 10 mph wind etc....

December is peak wahoo season in the Bahamas and Freeport/Lucaya (GBI) is wahoo central. If it's too windy/cloudy/rainy for bonefish, it's perfect for wahoo, just take your Dramamine --124-3.
