fished pawcatuck river and backside of napatree on dropping tide 5/16 midday...caught dozen fish on softbait/leadhead combo's at the dropoffs..nothing bigger than 22"... the fish were pretty scatter though...not the usual early season larger pods of small fish...caught and released a keeper friday night past right from my slip in the river on a surface plug....I'll be out there again this weekend...will be checking the outside of napatree weather permitting....

I'm going out to Napatree from shore, fishing it thursday thru Sunday. Usually have pretty good luck this time of year, but the reports this year seem slow. May try the other haunts, Matunick and the Breachways if the wind is up or the fish are down.
