Someone broke into my house and stole 6 reels from my workbench. It's painful to list them. A Duel 12/0 W, a Fin-Nor Tycoon 12/O W 2 speed, An Alurecnos 80 W, An Accuratre 12 Twin Drag Left handed model, an accurate 870M, and a Diawa Saltiga Z 5000 spinning reel. All in new or near new condition. Could use some help getting them back. Reels were located in Metrowest area of MA. Thanks. Geoffrey

wow dude, that really sucks.I don't know how we could help? seeing someone fishing with a duel or an alutecnos etc... won't tell anyone they're yours.keep your eye on craigslist, ebay. check your insurance company ,may be covered under your homeowners. good luck, hope you find them.

Sounds like an iside job- someone who knew you had those reels around. A normal burgler would never know those where worth a lot of $$. Some guys are just SCUM....

Regrettably, he's probably right.

A loss like that would make me feel worse than the turds the Red Sox turned into this season.

Start searching Ebay and Craig's List for those reels. Their pretty specific and probably won't see too many of them around.

A few years back someone was stealing fish finders and like boating electronics in Winthrop. The victims saw them on Ebay and the police bought them and nailed the person selling them.

I'd agree. Sounds like someone had prior knowledge they were there.

I think it's important he shared this with us. Just in case one of us fellow fishermen get approached by a stranger with an incredible deal.

I wish you luck in recovering your property. I hope the theif or theives die a slow cruel death.

Did they take anything else? If not, you probably won't see them being sold because they're being used....
Good luck getting your stuff back, make sure to call your insurance co.

Not much bright side here but your homeowners will prob cover it. For $500 deductible you might be sitting pretty with some new mint gear next spring.

Happened to me with some ski stuff.

I made up a "report" with pics I got from the internet of the gear I lost. No receipts -no nuthin but my sad story and pics and prices from the net.

Cha-ching. Phat check and all new gear.

Good luck - at least this did not happen in July.

Sad to say this, but I hope we all make this an object lesson. When my homein Cotuit was robbed, he were fortunate enough to have had a video walk-through of the house along with an inventory of all items worth anything, especially the admiral's jewelry, including pictures. My insurance company, USAA, provides forms although you can easily make your own. I'll be updating ours this weekend after hearing this. Keep it in a safe deposit box and yer good to go...
