I just got back from a great week in Abaco. The weather was great and the fishing was too. I went two days out of Sandy Point with a guide. There were thrre of us on a 20ft action craft so it got a little tight. My two companions were new to bonefishing and the flyrod. We saw many huge schools roaming the flats, bu ththey were picky. Tane Gotcha was the fly of choice. My friend ended up going spin and that force us of the flats away from the bigger bones(bummer!!!!) and more into schooling fish. My total for two days was about 15 bones and tons of blue runners. The crazy part was how aggressive the sharks were. We had 2-5 6' bull sharks crashing our fish in about 4 feet of water. They would come out of the water and pounce fish. It was quite a show. then we saw a 11' hammerhead in 3 feet of water. It has completing changed my comfort level on the flats. These sharsk were very aggressive. I had a 3' lemon charge me and then trun off. Wacking at them with the rod was not a deterent. Very spooky. The biggest thing was how fast a shark can turn and attack. I was amazed at the speed. If they wanted you, you wouldn't eve see it coming. But agreat trip. I would ove to go back with a few more competitent fly rod buddies and hit the flats hard for the big bones. Cheers
