Freedom Boat Club is a members-only boating club with 47 locations nationwide.
As a member, you can fish for stripers in Newburport, Redfish in Florida, and whatever the heck they fish for on the texas side of florida
Members have unlimited use of the variety of boats at thier home port, with no additional per-use cost to use our other locations.
Freedom maintains a fleet of late model, or new boats, and members don't have to do any cleaning, maintaining, winterization, etc. This is completely turn-key boating.
Afraid you may be creating a "fishing widow" take the family out on one of our many cruisers!

Tom,
Members are responsible for paying for the fuel they use. Boats leave the dock full and are filled upon return or the next day by FBC Dock Staff.
Thanks for your question and let us know if you have any other questions.

Was lucky enough to grab a day last year on my friends boat (member of Freedom Boat Club) while up from New Jersey. Beautiful day on the water running around the harbor and neighboring islands and just happened to be timed with some chasing of blitzes and non-stop action with the flyrod.
It was a very different experience for me, having trailered friends boats around most of the time I get on the water, the idea of pulling up to the dock and only having to grab my tackle and walk on or away from the boat was very different. NO mess, No headache and just the fun of chasing fish.
Don't really have an area with FBC where I am is South Jersey, but it would be a no brainer for me. Keep up the great work and hopefully will be luck enough to get up there again next summer. Let me know when you have one in South Jersey !!! :brow

oneidog,
here at FBC Greater Boston, we're hoping that you wont even have to go through the horrible task of lugging your 9 foot rods somehow in a 6 foot 2-door BMW coupe. We're meeting with Fisherman's outfitter next month to try and work something out.
thanks for the plug, greatly appreciated.
-see you on the water

Eddie,
FBC seems like a great concept, from what I know about it. Organization-wise, I was hoping you might be able to clarify/explain some things. Does FBC have one headquarter and each location is run independently as a franchise (like a Dunkin' Donuts)? Also, it looks like there are locations in Quincy and Hingham, correct? Or are these locations planned for the future?
I'm just trying to better understanding of it from a business sense.

Sure,
The Freedom Boat Club started in 1989 on the west-coast of florida. Our headquarters are in Cincinatti (yes, landlocked) with franchise teritorial rights locked-up by us in the Massachussetts area.
Quincy (Marina-Bay) is the Mass-bay mothership so to speak.
Beverly is a offshoot of Quincy, and Plymouth will be as well.
Members that join the Mass FBC are given unlimited use of all of our boats in all 3 locations, with the ability to use any boat throughout the nation at no additional cost to membership.

Martian,
FBC has a wide range of membership plans like indvidual, family, fishing buddy and corporate plans. Their are different length memberships like 3, 5 and 10 years.
The average cost for unlimited boating with each plan is about the same as boat storage and slip fees or about $4000-$5000 per year.
Weekday only plans and Buddy Plans Cost LESS per year.
I would suggest you call one of our offices or visit to get more details.

FBC has created completely new membership plans for 2008. There are no more 3, 5, or 10 year commitments. Going forward it is simply $5900 entry fee and $299 per month. You can be a member for 1 year or for 10years, you decide. Weekday Plans and Buddy (shared) plans cost less.
I would suggest you call one of our offices to get more details.
