My neighbor recently moved and left me what appears to be two trout rods. One is called a silo flex perfection model 210 and the other is a bristol fly rod that i can't find the model or line weight on. I suspect the silo flex is about a 4 wt but the bristol is closer to a 7wt. ..he also left me a gaggle of dry flies and some ant imitators and things of that nature. I tried googling the manufacturors names but nothing seems to come up. Has anyone out there ever heard of these two rods. They are not bamboo but appear to be made of fiberglass....

I believe the bristol rods were made in CT. They were known for making steel rods which to my knowledge are not very valuable as collectables or for fishing. They may have had glass rods in their line up too but I am not familar with them.
The Sila-flex is a good rod and has some value as both a collectable and a fishing tool. The company that made thar rod was Pacific Laminates and was started in the late 1940's in Costa Mesa CA. There should be a sea horse on the label ( Sampson the seahorse). Eventually Sila-flex was purchased by Browning and rods produced during that period say Browning Sila-Flex. Years later Zebco purchased the company but you still see the browning label around. Knowing the rod length will help with estimating its weight rating. Four weights were not as common back then. Five six seven and eights were more common. The lighter the weight the shorter the rod generally. Personally I love fishing the shorter old glass rods.
