little gull celebrates 200 years

Hard to believe that light is that old. See attached article from Newsday re a little history on this landmark and a ceremony that was held recently.

During the ceremony, a special wreath was laid commemorating the memory of the many lower units and props that have been lost around the lighthouse.

Cool. A hairy, but sometimes great, place to fish. I dinged a prop there and had a few close calls.
