Shark fishing is spectacular in the Backcountry right now. Thw wind has been on the increase for the past few days and hiding out in a channel flanked by flats keeps it calm.

On the reef Yellowtail are biting oretty good as well as Porgies and Grouper. There are some Grouper in the shallower patch reefs as well.

Dolphin is over. Sailfishing is on the upswing. We went 3/4 today on Sails and they were around 40-50 pounds each. Small Bluerunners off the Kite and dead Ballyhoo drifted on the flatlines all hooked fish.

In the Gulf we had a great day on Wednesday with over a dozen Cobia on the fly. They were all between 27 and 32 inches and are loads of fun on the fly. Sharks and Mangrove Snapper rounded out the day.

Below are a few pics of the new Contender. Simrad hooked me up with a 15" display on the network GPS,FF,Radar, Autopilot.
