This post is a bit late, but I've just started visiting this board again. Fished tuesday evening 5/16 with my son on the westfield near where it enters the CT river. Great night, caught 5 shad and many herring. I tried livelining a few herring on my striper rod for a while, but in the end decided to concentrate on the shad. Several other boats in the river fising for stripers with herring. Saw one striper landed, maybe 5 pounds. Best lure was a very tiny chartruese shad dart, add a couple spiltshot to get it down. This lure worked excellent on herring which are a ton of fun to catch on an ultralight outfit as my son will attest!

Weather permitting I'l be in Cotuit tonight looking for bluefish!
