View Full Version : Orlando Area in March 2007
I'll be in Orlando, Florida, for business in March and would like to try to schedule a day of guided saltwater flyfishing within a couple hours' drive. I've heard that false albacore can be a possibility that time of year, though would fish for anything worth targeting on a fly rod. Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks.

It's alittle early for them. I'm in Jupiter & we start to see them thick in May.

If you want a fly rod challenge, you can try sight fishing for big seatrout in the Mosquito Lagoon, about an hour from Orlando. The fish will be lying in shallow sand holes in less than two feet of water. Quick, accurate casts are necessary to catch these wary fish. March is also good for redfish and there may be a few black drum around also. Nearshore, cobia should be showing up but march weather can make the seas rough.
