Wet, Windy Fishing
Saturday decided to give it a shot despite the forecast. Sea conditions made for a bumpy & wet ride  but fishable.
Off the Coney Island flats the first slivers of light coming up found birds in closed to beach off Norton’s Point. Several Cast casts produced a single 20- inch bass. That was the blitz & fishing died within in minutes starting.
Moved south out to Romar Shoal than inshore to West Bank. Found some life near West Bank managed two- small bass. Watched the few boats that were out run in all directions looking for fish (#$119)
Ran inside Raritan Bay and found some Bird action & small blues 2-3 lbs called it quits about noon.
Sunday Fishing greatly improved :) . At sunrise found Bass inside Norton’s Point. Fished for approx 1-hours catching 8 fish to 27 inches. Moved toward West Bank found Blues breaking in the middle of the channel from 4 to 9 lbs (the largest) every cast produced.
Decided to run south towards Sandy Hook and found the Spanish Armada working over a large school of blues. Moved outside of the maddest and fished the marks had a steady pick of large blues & a several small bass. Quit around noon.
A good day’s fishing in the warm sun a lot better than Saturday.
Seawater temps still 59 -60 degrees Water still muddy brown.
Fish were feeding on both spearing & peanut bunker. The fish responded equally as well to fly (bunker) or Bucktail (White).
