Albany Carry-Ons

I have a flight from Albany on friday Am and I am wondering if you can now fly with a box of flies, hemostats and nippers. should I just pack them in the checked baggage? The rods and reels will be coming with me.

I flew to Miami a few months ago to fish, and just put all my tackle in with my check in luggage. Even checked in my rod tube. No hassles at all. As far as carry on, I wouldn't suggest it, the world is so paranoid with homeland security, it's not worth it.

The new director of TSA is Kip Hawley, my old neighbor. A smart no-BS guy who did away with the stupid fly/nail clippers rule. Of course, you can't take Marlin and shark hooks. But striper flies are fine. Rods are okay to carry on.
