Hate to just give lame reports, but I figure you guys wanna know whats happenning in Local NY - NJ waters! I consdier myself a very experianced fisherman, so if I'm not catching, I sure most others aren't either. ( Except maybe the the BAIT dunkers ). Once again decided to pass on the smaller schoolies, and look for some bird and blitz action. Did the 50 mile seek and distroy. Coney Island ( all sides ) Breezy Point, all the way East past Fort Tilden, back across Lower NY Bay. BIG %$%^$ --124-3 ZERO not a bird, not a fish anywhere. This has been the slowest late fall in about 20 years for large stripers. ( I keep detailed LOG reports since mid 1980's ) I know the bait dunkers are still catching, not putting anyone down, but that's JUST BORING fishing. Did work the NY Harbor for schoolies and landed about 20, all around the 21" mark. Should have just broke out the ultra light and played with them all day!!!!! Tight Lines to All I don't give up till ICE & SNOW stop me, usually around late January!

I took a gamble since the NJ-NY bight is slow or the run is over???? and trailered to Cape May. Fished a lighthouse shoal and cought Schoolies. No big fish down there either, pretty choppy N wind. anyone been down at Harkers?

Tried fishing up the Shrewsbury but the water was dirty with no fish. Lots of bait dimpling on top but no fish. Whats up with Jersey this year?

montauk had a pick of schoolies dredging around the light and turtle cove yesterday. no birds or blitzes to be found. herring don't seem to be in yet. most people seem to be blackfishing.
