Hi guys,

I will be in NJ for Thanksgiving and am thinking of doing my annual one-day pilgrimage to Sandy Hook. Is it still worse a shot? I would go on Friday if anybody wants to hook-up.

Thanks,

All of NJ has been dead for 3 weeks now, but you never know when it might break loose. I have no plans to be out and may even put the boat to sleep for good...

So I went from noon to 5:00pm. The ocean side was all murky but fishable. Did not see any birds there but tried several spots from the entrance to the tip to no avail. I was using a Storm shad. Bait guys got a couple twinkies and a bunch of skates. I then checked the bay side and witnessed a massive blitz going on off the fort. It started by the barge and slowly moved upstream. I ran back to the car to get my binoculars and watched the show for 10min hoping they would move close to shore but they never did. It lasted for at least an hour. BIG splashes under the birds. There were only four boats working the blitz. I whished I was on one of them. No fish for me but a gourgeous day outside. I walked for miles and had a great night sleep.

PAX,

Friday and Saturday was all twinkie bass in that location, with Friday being the better day. 14" to 20" fish if your into that. I myself can take that for maybe a hour before the boredom sets in.
