Well the fishing was very slow today and all I had was one hit all day....but I still have a smile on my face because the one hit was my first landlocked salmon caught in the open resevior (I've caught a couple in the past 2 years while they're on the spawn up the 'unmentionable' river, which is an entirely different fishery). It was small, probably 12 or 13 inches long and was released to swim another day. The lure of choice was a swedish pimple-size 5 (all chrome) and this fought a lot better than the lakers of the same size I have been catching, although being a smaller specimen, it didn't exactly rip drag out either. But it was cool nonetheless....btw, it didn't jump at all as I'd expect a salmon to do...but he did zip around back and forth very quickly a few times almost like a hard tail. The other thing that popped into my mind was how much like a weakfish this fish looked....
