This was the last fishing I will be doing this year. Overall it was not a very good season for me. I caught fish but nothing spectatcular and no real large concentrations of fish. Anyway on to the report:
Fished Sunday afternoon and yesterday until about 2:00 pm. Tons of small bass averaging about 18"-20" in Sandy Hook bay on both days. When I got tired of the twinkies I went looking for bigger fish. On Sunday I ran from SH Bay to the back around Great kills it was dead back there. On Monday I ran over to breezy, coney island, gravesend, Verranzano, great kills and all were dead. Ran out front as far south as the Haighlands bridge. I marked some fish about 1/2 mile off shore from the rock pile just north of the bridge and was able to dredge up two decent fish. No real sign of fish on the surface, just a bunch of gulls sitting on the water and a large slick. 450 grain snking line in about 25 feet of water with a 4/0 Chart. and white bucktail deceiver.
