Position Paper on Moving Montauk Light

I don't know if Perch posted that position paper because he was in favor of moving the light house, but here is a link to an op-ed piece in the New York Times by Russell Drumm, who usually writes for the East Hampton Star. Drumm has been out there forever, is a surfer and has a high level of credibility. He successfully points out why the light house should not be moved. Reading this, it makes it clear to me that its all but a dead issue and going to be very tough for the surfers to get much support.

I do indeed favor the Surfrider position. Turn the Corps loose on any project like this, and you court disaster. Actually, I favor doing nothing. If the lighthouse goes, it goes. On the other hand, if people want to move it, that's fine by me, too.
