Fished Smithtown bay this evening and things started out real slow. The first 2hrs I had zilch
for action. The one nice thing was I was pretty much
by myself. All the boats stayed in because of the
strong N.E. wind. With the tide fours into the outgoing
I p/u two schoolies and the action fell again . Within
minutes however I was into a bluefish feed that last until dark. The blues were 3 to 5lbs and feeding heavily on sand eels. I also hooked into some Long Island tarpon (shad) to my surprise. Action stopped
at the bottom of the tide just before dark. I'll take nasty weather and a good nights fishing anytime. See ya on the beach!
