I have a business trip to Miami next week (1/12) and was thinking about extending it to Sat/Sun to do some fishing in the area. Is it worth it this time of year? Can anyone help me get started with guides or fishing opportunities (light tackle) in the area?

Thanks,
-T.

I understand there is some decent fishing a bit south in the Everglades area. Easiest thing to do would be to google florida guides.

I would do an offshore trip on one day and a night trip in the cut r bay on the other day. Thr night trip will put you on tarpon and snook and the day trip can put you on sails, kings, wahoo, mahi etc..

Catching a tarpon and a sail in the same weekend is a pretty cool experience. Most of the light tackle guys Bouncer, Dean Panos, Dave Kostyo, etc..) can do both types of trips so you stay with one guide for two trips.
