.......unless you go!
Theme of the night "Boes knows Moes". We wanted our buddy Boes to get a moe, and the mission was accomplished plus some. He lost a couple to fate, he had not done anything wrong, just the way the game is played out to you sometimes. On the first one he got to the boat, we were quite a ways off from the fish. She had already run us around trying to hunt her down. She would pop up here and there, just teasing. Finally she was a good ways off, but in a good position to cast to. Told him to just try and see what happens; Boes fired off a big, long, beautiful cast. Best cast I have ever seen fired to a fish that far away. Perfect and right in her face for a beautiful take. A short forearm burning battle later, and fate was sealed, Boes now knows Moe and a few others.
Rainy and nasty all night. Got quite a few big fish, but we worked hard and paid our dues for each and everyone of them. Not a lot of bait to be seen, and the fish spooked easy. Actually that's the way I like it. The added challenges make it that much more rewarding when the hook sets.
We finally had enough. The run back in was pitch black do to low vis from rain and fog. (I would not recommend this to anyone not used to navigating at night. I was even a bit nervous.) My head hit the rack for 2.5 hours of sleep, and up and at 'em to go to work this morning.
The boys about to seal the deal. (yep it's a raining)
