Ice at Little Chauncey

Got out of work a bit early and headed over to the nearest ice. Little Chauncey

The access road had bee serrious flooded due to beaver activity. The water was back down but the area was covered by some serious ice. Two wheel drive forget it. 4 wheel pick up with lots of clearance can go straight through. Suv can make it along the right side allow if you just crawl it might be a bit harder than just going for it.

One flag no fish. I'll be at A1 if any of you are heading that way.

It's unfortunate, but there are a lot of sportsmen access problems throughout the state that need to be addressed at the moment. Many can rectified for very short $$$. But, when there is no $$$, even short $$$ is beyond reach. In the end, some strategically placed boulders often ends up being the "final solution". :(

How does Big Chauncey look re: safe ice? I may be over there Sunday. I don't think my Outback will negotiate that so-called "road" to Little C :cool: .

People have been fishing it. In fact I plan on being over there sunday myself. I head from the ramp out off the beach a short ways. Big flourescent orange coat.

Fished A1 today..... slow. one bass, one fished fished, a few flags with nothing. But I did get a 14" crappie (calico). I think it was the biggest crappie I ever caught.

Fished Chauncy today 2/4 Two flags, one short run but nothing caught. Guy next to me caught a few pickeral and a small pike.

That water over by the beach may be kept open by the number of birds swimming there.
