I love Largemouth and this year will be my first time catching them on a fly. Do you know of any good bass flies? I have bought some but i want to tie some. thanks

Poppers are a great LM Bass fly and tons of fun. I have also done well with Zonkers, as well as all the standard saltwater flies. One big difference is that LM love the weeds, so don't be afraid to use a heavier weight combo than you might think. A float tube is a ton of fun and a great way to LM Bass fish the smaller ponds.
I have good luck with suface or sub-surface ties using bunny strip tails. Largemouth respond well to slo o o w retrieves, and the bunny tails have action when they are standing still.

I have done pretty well with largemouth in the early season using weighted buggers stripped slowly near structure. You will pick them up this way long before they will consider anything on the surface.

I'll also cast a vote for poppers...especially in the evening. I'm currently trying to create a fly that would imitate a Senko rigged wacky style. That'll get me going for a bigger part of the day than just evenings.

Although not my most utilized method, one of my favorite visual bass catches occured in Herd Pond in Wayland on a white sand flat area. I was throwing a beaded wooly bugger-letting it drop to the bottom and giving a strip so it would dart and settle. A nice 3 lb bass saw and and closed in on it. I had to twitch the fly several times before that bad boy came in for the kill. It was a cool visual which reminded me of what it might be like to bonefish (at least until the fight begins) as you could see that fish cruised in and you could see it's shadow on the white sand. Good visual.

Deer hair shiner patterns with just enough weight to keep them off the surface. Fish them REAL slow.

Floating mouse in June/July First and last light. I'd be tempted to use a small lobster fly if crayfish are present.
