Came across an article by Alan Caolo on critters for the surf...Looked at a couple of the pics of flies they had from Skoks Merkin lady crab to a lady crab that the author put up and got to thinking and came out with this...

Hook..1/0 3407 Mustad
Eyes.. brass dumbells
Tail..Flamingo Pink Bird Fur
Pincer/Arms..paired up carmel brown saddles, two per side.
Body..Tan chenille wrapped with carmel brown saddle.
Carapace lower wing.. Flamingo Pink Bird Fur.
Carapace upper wing..Caramel DNA

Looks buggy...easy to tye but I need to pay more attention to finishing the head clean... http://www.flyfishsaltwaters.com/ubb/graemlins/ignore.gif

I'm *guessing* this fly will be a welcome addition in my box when the sun is overhead, the water is wicked clear and shallow and I am getting refusals on the polar bear clousers..

Here are a few more pics...I am liking this fly the more I play with the concept...I just need a sandy flat, 65 degree water, 70 degree air and blue sky to try and entice a slob to EAT IT! http://www.flyfishsaltwaters.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
I added some eyes and purple hight lights to the carmel DNA...When the fly was finished, I added a drop of Zap a Gap gap filler to the tie in point of the upper wings and let it slowly penetrate back into the Bird Fur and DNA and when it gets to where I want it, I hit it with the instant set...It keeps the wing and body fanned out like you see..
If you tye some up, let me know if they work for you.. http://www.flyfishsaltwaters.com/ubb/graemlins/cheers.gif
