Looking for a user friendly ice fishing pond in the Acton Ma area. User-friendly meaning parking and tolerant of the smokey joe (grill) and a few beers.

I usually go out on my own but this time the wife, 4 year old daughter and a couple of friends are coming.

I know Walden is pretty friendly but I am not sure about the grill etc.

I can go west or east. Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Try Baddacook Pond in Groton. I float-tube this water in the spring and catch trout year-round... I heard they also dump in some brood-stock Atlantic Salmon. As for the brews, I personally dont like to mix endulging in adult beverages while fishing. I've taken too many spills in the Millers and Deerfield, SOBER...very scary and VERY dangerous!! That of course dosnt include the numerous times each season that I hop a brook to find myself in "beaver-made" quicksand!!!
Although, if your ice-fishing (Im not a fan, personally) Baddacook Pond in Groton, and/or for a smaller (likely frozen) pond, try Nonesuch Pond in Westford. It's a sleeper...
Good luck though, open containers in MA is illegal, and if you have your kids with you, the cops will likely come down hard on you...
Just remember, KNOW THE ICE before you head out...Especially with a kid and alcohol!! (#$119)
