New to sweetwater...

Looking to try a little trout fishing in Southern Vermont (Wilmington area) and was hoping some of you guys and gals could offer some advice.

When does the season start in the spring?
When and which streams / rivers are stocked?
In general, locate of some good bodies of water...

Vermont Trout Season opens the second Saturday in April for most waters.

Those that are stocked will not be stocked until late April/ Early May- you can get the stocking reports from the Vermont Fish & Wildlife website ( http://www.vtfishandwildlife.com/)

My fishing info is mostly north of that area, but the Deerfield and West come to mind. Both are dam controlled and managed for white water at times. Tattinger's in Wilmington is a good shop for info- they know the Deerfield well.
