it's a tiger fish.. From Africa, this one was from the Congo.

It does have some nasty teeth though...

That really is a face only a mother could love! Looks like something you would expect to see swimming around in a pool in Dr. No's lair in James Bond, or maybe Dr. Evil's in Austin Powers.

stainless steel with titanium or tungsten hooks work best.

You have to wonder what they eat with teeth like that..

Once before I saw some fish with the blood forced way out into the ends of the fins and mouth. Some troops had been "fishin" with hand-grenades.

I read about one that sheared the calf of some poor wading fisherman in Lake Tanganyika a long time ago. I guess the water was pretty murky.

I am fortunate to have fished in several of the best spots around the globe and this is the king of fresh water fly fishing!

If anybody is keen, try the zambezi river, guided by Gerard Simpson...

Talk about a cheap trip for USD earners
