View Full Version : Heavy Jig for plastic bait with small dia shaft?
Does anyone know if someone maked bullet head jig 2-4oz with strong large hook and small dia shaft that goes into plastic . I would like to rig this onto 9" or larger sluggo type bait. All the jigs I see in this weight have large diamter of lead that gets pushed into the plastic. This usually splits the plastic easily.
I presently use a reciprocating saw to cut the lead shaft smaller. It works good but it creates lead chips all over the work shop.

most bait shops down the cape carry them. A question for you, you said they are splitting on you. Are you cutting the ends off first before u slid the sluggos on because if you do that it will help alot from them tearing.
JIm,
Check your PM.
OK....You don't accept PM's....
e-mail or PM me, and I'll tell you where to get some heads.

Have you tried rigging the slug-go with a worm hook or octopus-style hook, then adding weights in the body of the plastic? Lunker City now makes small, cylindrical leads that you can slide right into the fat part of the bait.
Bob. I enabled PM. It would be great if you have info on the jigs.
