Recently retired my Scientific Angler 8/9 and came across a new product from a company named Colton. Purchased the 8/9 in the Gun Metal color and it is one SWEET reel. Silky, silky smooth with a carbon fiber drag. The fit and finish are flawless. All this for around $150.00. Made in Germany...Can't say enough good things about this reel. Here is what they look like....

Nice looking reels. Let us know how they hold up while fishing.

Tom, that looks more like a press release than a, " Review." Especially since it has also been posted on several other forums.
A review might include some information on the company, as well as the performance of the reel in actual fishing situations.

OK, so your first impression is positive. I'd be interested to know how it holds up to actual fishing. So much stuff looks good out of the box - but disappoints after significant use.:)

Boy, this is one tough crowd...First off I just bought the reel recently and was just trying to make people aware that there is another option out there in the lower price reel market...Not sure what you would like to know about the company. I didn't check out the financial statements of Tibor, Bauer or Scientific Anglers when I purchased there product. Colton is a new company who is bringing to market fly reels and rods. I have no stake in the company. I know the owner on a very casual level. He seems like a straight shooter who will stand behind his product.....I will post an update once I have had some quality time on the water using this reel...Hope this clears up some issues you all had.............
