Just got back, what a trip. Stayed at Morritts on the east end. I would agree that it is not a flyfishing destination. I was blown away by the numbers of tarpon under the Morritts Grand Dock at night. There were no less than 30+ each night. Most if not all were in the 40lb range or less. They dont allow fishng, but I waited until last call(11:00pm) and the dock was all mine. I would have never landed one and brought it up the 3ft to get a pic or get the hook out, and really didnt give it my best effort. Got a pic during the day with my fathers day present--a Pentax w 30.

I met a guy in the airport that reported he saw bonefish at Rumpoint. I never did, but it looked like a good spot. But I did see one snook(?!), it looked lost and never left the dock at Rum point. Next time I would spend more time wading the flats around rum point. I waded what seemed like the entire east end and never saw anything. Never got past Georgetown in the van with the family.

This was a family trip, mostly snorkling. But next time....

Tight lines,
