Fishing From Shore

So basically I know absolutely nothing about fishing. I mean besides knowing that I need some weight on my line and a hook.

I was having trouble finding a free saltwater guide of sorts online so I'm looking for a little help.

I'll be in Costa Rica for 2 weeks on a surf trip, and will be bringing my $30 dollar walmart special spinning reel and rod. I was wondering what line, bait, leader, hooks, bait, fishing knots etc. that would help me catch some dinner out there. I'll be mainly casting from the beach into the surf, and some out on some points into the bay. I'll be all up and down the coast, and would appreciate either some links to a good website, or a slice from the ol knowledge box. Thanks for your help!

Have you tried searches with Costa Rica, fishing or recreation as your internet key terms.

You can also do a search of these forms using the search feature listed above. While most info will be on fly fishing, you might get hints on locations. Local tackle shots should also be able to give you that kind of infor.
