I think Ray runs his guide service with a cat. Ask Ray. He is strong on cats for fishing.

I was on a cat for the first time last summer, I believe it was a World Cat 23 CC With twin Yamaha 150 4-stokes. I have to tell you the ride was AWESOME!!!
These boats are not the nicest looking boats on the market in my opinion but I was blown away at how they handled 4 footers over many deep vee mono hulls I have been on. No pounding at all it cut the waves, many times I held on with two hands expecting a jolting slam at 20 kts, there was none.
Because the cat is not a mono it grabs the water, for example if you turn sharp left you will be thrown to the right more than a mono, need to warn people and get used to this.
Put a guy or two on the bow seat and do 15 -20 kts to test for sneezing ( fine spray up over the windshield) Fishing setup may not be real good.
I am in the market for another boat and I would have considered one of these hulls , but I don’t need twin engines (costs) and my fishing is inshore to 10 miles with other boats.
Good luck,

Ray runs a 20' Whaler. I think you may have been thinking of Bill Straekle (sp?) who I believe runs a cat down in NC now.
