Today Dana and I had from 7 to 12 to get it done. We trailered to PLymouth for 0730. Flew over to RP in 3-4's :brow in 27 minutes. Fished from around 8 to 1030 and had dozens of fantastic shots at feeding fish. We could not make them eat. I had one hookup on a Polish Sandeel and I fought the fish for around 10-15 minutes and pulled the hook working him up and down in 200' of water. That was the only take of the day. I threw all the usuals and Dana threw different poppers and tin so we pretty much covered the spectrum. We had some shots where they were just crashing all around the boat and we were throwing strikes right into the mix. Just would not eat what we were tossing. With time short we flew back trailered home, topped off the tanks and called it a day before noon.
Plenty of fish out there if you want to slosh around a bit. Hope someone can figure out what they want to eat today.

Terry,
We had similar success yesterday. We did not see many crashing schools of fish for most of the day. Many small pods of 1-6 fish just porpoising and frolicking but not really feeding aggressively. Finally around 3:00 pm. while the seas were building we found a nice school of fish in the same area where you were and eased up on them. I fired a perfect cast into the mix with a Yozuri Hydro popper and it got slammed immediately only to come unbuttoned 2 secs later, before I could move it again it got destroyed by a second fish and the battle was on. 45 min. of up and down in 150 ft. of water and I finally got it close enough to gaff. Jared made the money shot and we lifted a nice 50+" fish into the boat. Was using Tsunami 20-40 lb. rod with a lot of braid and Quantum Cabo 70 and as stated Yozuri Hydro Popper in mackerel color. Saw a big school of dolphins on the way back to the ramp that were grey hounding bait right on top. Very cool to see them mixed in with the tuna just flying into the air 5-6 ft.. I think they really have fun being dolphins. The chatter on the radio all day was many surfacing fish that were untouchable????

Mike,
I heard Jared choked on the fly rod. I was the guy that pulled up to you on the corner. we had two other take downs but none that got the hook. It was still good getting Jake his first fish.

Nice Fish Mike. Good move throwing the Yozuri hydro Popper. Some of these pods won't touch anything, others are real aggressive and smash lures as soon as they hit the water.

First trip with freinds, not impressed. Just one knock down and most of the boats headed in long before us. One boat did manage three and would not stop crowing about it. At least someone caught fish. Guide was very apologetic. I had originally booked for bass. Oh well that's fishing.
