Going on the experience of the crew on this board, how long do you guys think the albies will stick around MTK based on their arrival? I am tying like a madman for the annual trip, but its a little later this year than past (mid-oct) and i am trying to decide how much time i should be focusing on albie stuff.

I know this is a crap-shoot for the most part, but it seems like they are moving out of NE and it feels like we may just catch the tail end in 3 weeks.

Your thoughts and advice are appreciated!

Brian

Well you never know about these things. Sometimes mid-October can be the hottest time, but it does seem like the past couple years they have come in and moved on a couple weeks earlier.

Of course later in October can produce epic bass blitzes......:brow

I'm no longer a Montauk regular, but when I had my boat out there until '96, I always felt like Colombus Day was THE DAY to almost gaurantee Albie action. That time is still usually Nor'easter, Hurricane safe which usually kick started there departure. I don't think there was as much tunoid action back then as now so I think your safe with your trip.
