A New story from Reuters in Spain today--not good news at all. Some are quoted in the story as believing the tuna ranches are done due to lack of fish. Fewer big ones showing up.
Not good at all, for us, them, or anybody. Next thing they'll crush the small fish fishery that has developed here. Will ICCAT ever get fixed?

I think you know the answer to your rhetorical question Bill. Not that it matters to me since I was pretty much a non-fisherman this summer...

Me too Mark--no giants down this way at all. I did go and get my 100 ton masters, and also managed to win a fishing tournament at Skippy's Pier 4 over labor day for a client with a 70 lb fish at the Sword--fun on a 6/0 Senator. Looks like charters for me if I'm going to get time offshore in the future. Of course, that will guarantee a good year for giants.
Hope all's well.

There was a special edition National Geographic sent out last month that had the decline of the fish stocks world wide. Of course the the focus was on the tunas and how they are being harvested at 5-6 times the sustainable rate in the Mediteranian sea. They mentioned how well the heavily managed Gulf of Alaska Salmon fishery is working to keep it sustainiable and said it is a model of sustainable fishing. It sounded familiar with what Twofin and the Chior Coalition is all about. Lets hope we get some of that management going over here...
Things are going well, Bill-busy, but well. I'm heading out on the little boat Friday with 30's, 50's and spinning gear for small ones. Would be fun to get into a bigger one on that stuff, tho...
